Trang has owned and run Donut King here for more than 24 years. This year she and her team won the STAR Sweets & Drinks award at the Sunshine Business Awards 2026/27.

“To win the business award, it means a lot to me,” says Trang. “And I couldn’t achieve it without the support of my amazing team.”

The donut everyone asks for

Ask Trang for her favourite and the answer comes quickly. “My favourite things are our world famous hot cinnamon donuts. Because it’s soft, it’s fluffy, it’s sweet and it has a hint of spice, a hint of cinnamon.”

They are cooked fresh in store and rolled in cinnamon sugar while they are still warm. Add a freshly brewed coffee and you have the perfect little break in your day.

More than a donut shop

For Trang, the best part of the job is the people. “Generally, people here support the local business. We know their name, we know their order. It’s like a family.”

Over 24 years, customers have become regulars and regulars have become friends. The team supports each other every day.

“Over 24 years, supporting each other,” says Trang. “And I’m so grateful to achieve that.”
