Daniel works behind the counter at Dumpling Chef in the food court. He moved here from Taiwan, and when you ask what he likes about the job, he does not start with the food.

"They treat you as their children, as their grandson," he says. "Ask you, how are you today."

He also has a habit worth borrowing. On a day when he finishes early, he walks across to the cinema, watches something, and goes home.

"There is a cinema here. So if I have got time, I will go watch a movie and go back home. It is very convenient."

Lunch (or dinner)

Dumplings, bao, hot bar, and rice and noodle dishes made to order. Daniel has been serving the same regulars long enough that plenty of them do not need to say what they want.

A film

Village Cinemas is in centre, so you are already there.

Afternoon sessions are the quietest of the day. Good if you would rather a half empty room, and good if you are bringing children who are still getting used to how cinemas work. Village Cinemas at Sunshine also has the exclusive and purpose designed Cinema rooms known as, VJunior, for all your little ones, with an in-built playground.
