Thirty years ago a small yellow mouse turned up on a handheld screen and quietly took over every lunch table in the country. Pokémon hits its 30th anniversary this year, and the celebration range is arriving at Big W and EB Games at Sunshine Marketplace on Wednesday 16 September.

If you grew up on it, this one is going to feel familiar. If your kids are the ones deep in it now, you have probably already been briefed on exactly what they are after.

When to come in

Both Big W and EB Games are opening early for this release, and anniversary ranges tend to move fastest in the first few days. A midweek morning is usually the calmest run, and there is plenty of parking before the school pick up rush builds. Kmart also trades late into the evening, so an after dinner trip is a genuinely quiet option if mornings are not your thing. Be sure to check directly with Big W and EB Games for their opening hours.

While you are here

Altona Gate is built for the quick trip, so you can pair it with the rest of the list without making a day of it. Woolworths and The Reject Shop are both under the same roof, with Priceline are a short walk away, and there is coffee on the way through if the 8am start needs support.
